Was haltet Ihr davon die Filme hier schon mal zu Diskussion zu stellen und so bis zum Wettbewerb noch etwas zu "optimieren" ?

International Kemer Underwater Days (IKUD) is a week of activities organized jointly by the Underwater Archeological Research Association (ASAD) and the Foundation for the Promotion of Kemer (KETAV), whose goal is to introduce to the world the natural and the archeological beauties of the deep waters of Antalya in the Mediterranean.
The Antalya coast of the Mediterranean has hosted numerous civilizations for thousands of years, who maintained their commercial and political relationships mostly through naval routes. As a result of this, traces of these civilizations left in the depths of the blue waters as well as the natural beauties of the area await to be discovered.
3. International Kemer Underwater Days consists of the following activities to realize the goal of the foundations mentioned above:
1. Underwater imaging competitions;
2. Underwater documentary and short meter film projections;
3. Lectures on the archeological heritage of the Mediterranean, tourism and imaging.
4. Exhibitions of underwater photography
5. Competition and exhibition of children drawings
6. An award ceremony by the Archeological Underwater Researches Association for those people who has had invaluable contributions to the underwater archeology of Turkey.
7. A ceremony of the 'KETAV plaque of gratitude' for the competitors and visitors who participate in the competition.
8. Concerts and displays during the award ceremony for the competitors.
Underwater imaging competitions are divided into four main categories. Each of these categories is named after a Turkish pioneer in underwater research and imaging. These categories are:
CATEGORIES
1. Nurdoðan Özkaya Underwater Nature Photography
2. Emre Omur Underwater Nature Video Imaging Competition
3. Jale Inan Underwater Archeology Photography Competition
4. Ekrem Akurgal Underwater Archeology Video Imaging Competition
In all these categories competitors compete with a camera of their choice within a given period of time and in a pre-determined area. There is no restriction on the kind of lenses or filters.

Der Oscar des Unterwasserfilms wird wieder im Oktober in Antibe verliehen.
Last news: The Festival stays in Antibes
We announced recently that the 33rd edition of the World Festival of Underwater Pictures would take place in Nice at the end of October. This will not happen. A sudden change round of the Eastern wind forces us to take shelter in the Vauban Port of Antibes.
In spite of the closing of the Convention Centre of Juan les Pins for conformity works, the County Council and Antibes town agreed to make the Festival 2006 in Antibes. At the same time, the County Council reinforces its support to the Festival that becomes the "World Festival of Underwater Pictures of Alpes-Maritimes".
So, the 33rd World festival of Underwater Pictures will happen from October, 25th to 29th 2006 in Antibes at the Pré aux Pêcheurs (in the Vauban Port). A tent village of 6,000 m² will include 3 show rooms and an exhibit surface. It will thus enable to welcome the event under the best conditions. With Daniel Mercier, the general delegate and Philippe Vallette, the president, all the team of the festival will do their best in order to have a successful edition and a big party.
The honorary guest of the 2006 Festival is Papua New Guinea, a destination much appreciated for diving.

Slide contest
OFFICIALLY OPEN TO DIGITAL FORMAT
For several years now, the Festival has accepted the digital format in its colour and B&W photography contest. For its 33rd edition, the Festival officially accepts the digital format in its slide contest.
Officiously, this format has been yet accepted in the slide contest for some years. Some competitors transferred their digital images to slides, whereas others directly presented a CD-rom including a series of ten digital files.
During the last edition of the Festival, three series presented underCD-rom format were classified among the twelve firsts.
Of course, the jury had to judge the works on an equal footing and the necessary means were given to enable them to work in the best contitions. According to the jury's deliberation of the last edition, it seemed it was not necessary to create a sub-category. In the slide contest, film and digital format will cohabit together with no difference.
Thus, in the Festival, what primes (and is prized) is the vision of the photographer. So, film fans or digital addicted... just take your camera!
To participate in the slide contest with your digital files:
The regulation of the slide contest has been modified to include the digital format. Your files must be burnt on a CD-rom (no sending by e-mail). Only image files (.jpeg) are accepted. The CD-rom must include 10 different images files (Minimal size:1280*960 pixels, less than 10 Mo each). These files must be named as follows: NAME-First name-NN (NAME: Name of the competitor; First name: first name of the competitor; NN: number of the picture from 01 to 10). NAME and First name of th ecompetitor must also be written on the CD-rom with indelible ink.
